Dion Stevenson

Board Chair

Dion has extensive experience in engineering and business management.
Dion believes education has been the cornerstone of his life and has enabled him to tackle challenges and opportunities. Dion is passionate about providing the same education opportunities to those who are disadvantaged or need additional skills.

Dion was appointed to the Board in 2020.

Eliza-Beth Brennan

Deputy Chair

Eliza-Beth has a diverse employment and education background in leadership, holistic therapy and service/client management.
Eliza-Beth is passionate about supporting people’s soul journey of connection, discovery and healing to enable a deeper more authentic way of living and service in the world.

Eliza-Beth was appointed to the Board 2020.

Keith Primrose

Treasurer

Keith leads a team delivering professional services supporting public land management.  Keith believes adult and community education is a valuable tool to enhance quality of life.

Keith was appointed to the Board in 2024.

Carol Nolan

Board Director

Carol is an accomplished healthcare professional with extensive experience, in roles such as Chief Operations Officer and Deputy CEO of a Primary Health Care Organisation.
Education has been instrumental in shaping her career and personal growth. Carol feels that adult education is essential to a vibrant health community and that learning is a lifelong journey that doesn’t finish at school.

Carol was appointed to the Board in 2020.

 

Graeme Domm

Board Director

Graeme is responsible for communication and marketing at Winton Wetlands (north-east Victoria, Australia) one of the most ambitious wetland restoration projects in the southern hemisphere.

Past roles have included:  head of public relations studies at RMIT University Australia, director of communications and founding head of professional communication studies, RMIT University Vietnam; senior lecturer, University of Westminster, London; ministerial adviser, Australian Government; Victorian Government roles including ministerial speechwriting; senior roles with major communication consultancies; journalist/editor – The Age newspaper and specialist publications.

Graeme was appointed to the Board in 2021.

Laura Shortis

Board Director

Laura has built a career working in the Not for Profit sector and has worked across areas such as Community Health, Education and Mental Health. At the start of 2024, Laura moved to North East Victoria and has loved getting to know the area and the community.

With a deep-seated commitment to social impact, Laura has spent her career advocating for accessible learning opportunities for all and is excited to be able to contribute as a Board Member at The Centre.

Laura was appointed to the Board in 2024.

Denise Pirko

Board Director

Denise moved from Canada to Australia where she learned the importance of Education to enter a new career path, specialising in operations and project management, stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
Denise works for Local Government and understands the importance of opportunities for Community participation. Denise looks to making a difference in the local community.

Denise was appointed to the Board in 2024.
