We are seeking applications from individuals to join the Board of Governance, who will support the achievement of our vision and guide The Centre to achieve and fulfil its exciting future.
Skills in finance and community engagement would be highly valued.

The Centre is a community-owned, not-for-profit Community College, established in 1962, operating a unique blend of community-building programs, learner engagement support and education programs for people with low educational attainment and multiple challenges throughout the huge region.

The Role

As a Non-Executive Board Director, you will play a vital role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring good governance, and championing our values. This is a voluntary position, ideal for someone who wants to give back to the community and contribute their expertise to a meaningful cause.

The Board hold 11 board meetings a year, held from 3 pm until 5 pm on a weekday. It is expected that a Board Director has time to commit to attending meetings and time to represent the Board at some of The Centre’s events.

Candidates with the following experience are preferred:

• Experience working with or on committees or Boards.
• Experience and knowledge in Finance, Legal, Community or Training and Education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills that include the ability to provide open and honest feedback in a respectful manner.
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality within legal constraints around this.
