Community Visitors Scheme celebrates 30th birthday

The Community Visitors Scheme celebrated its 30th birthday this morning at The Centre in Wangaratta.

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) celebrated its 30th birthday on 16 May at The Centre in Wangaratta. The CVS matches volunteers to socially isolated residents across the Hume region who are living at home or in residential aged care facility. Volunteers visit these residents regularly to provide friendship and companionship. CVS has been part of The Centre for Continuing Education since 1992.

We thank Brett Sutton and Helen Haines MP for their birthday wishes, and all the volunteers who were there. You deserve the cake (and more!) for your continuous efforts to provide companionship to socially-isolated members in our community. If you want to volunteer, register your interest at https://volunteercentre.com.au/community-visitors-scheme/.
