Youth Jobs PaTH

Youth Jobs PaTH is an Australian Government employment service that helps young people gain skills and work experience they need to get and keep a job.

At The Centre we deliver Employability Skills Training (EST) as a part of the PaTH program, which helps young people become job ready by providing intensive pre-employment training.

Employability Skills Training (EST) is suitable for participants aged between 15 and 24

Prepare for a career and gain core skills for work while you learn: Develop your self management, resilience, independence and work ready skills.

We are focused on building the skills of:

  • How to be a great employee
  • What employers expect – before you start, day one on the job, and during your time working for their company
  • How to set goals, manage stress and get organised
  • How to effectively communicate with your peers, potential colleagues and employers
  • How to use various forms of technology, computers and apply numbers in the workplace
  • How to impress your new employer from day one of a new job

How is the training delivered?

Employability Skills Training is delivered in two training blocks. Each block is 25 hours per week and delivered over three weeks.

What the course looks like

During your course you will have guest speakers join the class including potential employers and past successful job seekers. You can explore career opportunities with local workplace tours and visits.

What you will receive

Those who successfully complete their Employability Skills Training at The Centre will receive a Statement of Attainment and a Certificate for their resume, outlining all of the skills you have gain during the course.
