Studies at The Centre springboard to career

The role of a teacher’s aide is incredibly varied and rewarding, providing essential expertise in classroom support for teachers and students alike.

Jessica Delaney studied a Certificate III in Education Support in 2018 for her gap year before advancing on to tertiary study in 2019.

"My plan when I graduated high school was to end up studying primary teaching at uni, so I wanted to get some experience in the field and make sure the career choice was right for me," Jessica said.

Jessica completed her study as a traineeship with The Apprenticeship Factory in Wangaratta, working full time with a placement in a local school and completing her study on the side.

"The course really helped me to understand the legal side of working within a classroom and working with children.

"It was really helpful to have an educational understanding about the health and welfare management of the student.

"Knowing what is and isn’t appropriate was really useful once I was in the classroom."

Jessica has continued on to study a Bachelor of Primary education at university in 2019, and has found that her Certificate III provided a fantastic launching off point to excel in her degree.

"Many of the modules I studied within my Certificate III have given me a headstart in my first-year units.

"Already having an understanding of how kids think and learn, and knowing how to strategise when dealing with behaviours within the classroom have been really helpful."

We are just about to hit a milestone, 1000 likes.

When we started our Facebook page in November 2015 we were well behind many other organisations who where already on social media.

We have worked really hard to join together a group of people who are passionate about education, community and improving their own careers and job prospects.

We want to reach even more people and let them know about our life changing programs.

Help us reach 1000 likes by liking and sharing our Facebook page.

Thank you all for your ongoing support.
