Anne Pennington Awards

Save the date – 2pm, 6 September 2018 at The Centre, Wangaratta

What is the Anne Pennington Award?
Since 2005 an award has been presented to learners in Adult Learners’ Week to honour the memory of Anne Pennington, who died on Christmas Eve in 2004.

Anne was a highly respected and much loved staff member of The Centre, and before that of Forum, Benalla. On her resignation due to ill health in 2004, the Board of Governance decided that an award would be named in her honour, to acknowledge her contributions to adult learning and her many strengths and qualities as a person.

Following the successful Wangaratta Sport Forum held in June, this workshop will focus on an overview of gender balance in the sport sector, and how clubs can adopt the Respect and Equity Policy.

Facilitated by founder of ‘Advancing Women’, Michelle Redfern, the workshop aims to provide an opportunity to gain a better understanding of what your club can do to become more inclusive.
