Getting There

22472VIC & 22473VIC Certificate I & II in General Education for Adults

Take the leap and discover your strengths!  Learn the skills to succeed in the workplace

Getting There is an engaging and supportive learning and education program that helps learners to gain the confidence and skills needed to apply for and gain employment or go onto further education.

Delivered through the 22472VIC Certificate I in General Education for Adults and 22473VIC Certificate II in General Education for Adults, The Centre provides a warm, welcoming and supportive learning environment that supports learners to develop their skills at their own pace and experience projects that interest and challenge them.

Through Getting There, we work with our learners to help them build language around each core work skill.

Our learners are also able to successfully participate in job interviews by being able to describe how they have developed these skills, e.g. working in a team, thinking creatively.

Getting There supports learners to develop:

  • Foundation skills – reading, writing and maths
  • Career management skills – find work, navigate a career, and access the hidden job market
  • Confidence skills – build confidence, resilience and connections
  • Core work skills – learn the transferable skills required in many jobs

I chose to sign up for the Getting There program to extend my knowledge and to process my everyday living needs. Learning the skills to help me manage my money, extend my math skills, improve my reading and writing skills, and just working all-round to improve my abilities as a person have been the best parts.

This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government Funding. Individuals with a disability are encouraged to access government subsidised training.
