Civil Construction

Getting skilled for a career in civil construction is a smart move. It’s an industry that is diverse, essential and growing, particularly in our region. Once you get your foot in the door, you could be working on roads, airports, railways or water infrastructure – just to name a few.

Whether you are good at operating or understanding machinery or want to specialise in a certain material or type of construction, civil construction workers will always be in demand.

This entry-level course is designed to kick start your career in becoming a civil construction worker, labourer or apprentice. While undertaking this course you will learn hands-on construction techniques, entry-level skills and the knowledge you need to work in the civil construction industry.

Units from the Certificate II can be credited towards completing your Certificate III in Civil Construction with Wodonga TAFE. We encourage and support our learners to apply for apprenticeships with local employers.

 

What you will learn:

 

While undertaking this course you will learn hands-on construction techniques, entry-level skills and the knowledge you need to work in the civil construction industry. These skills will help you secure an apprenticeship in the construction industry.

Learners will gain the skills and knowledge required to work safely and competently across a range of work tasks that are carried out regularly within civil construction.

White Card

CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)

This training will be included in the course and will be issued on a separate Statement of Attainment, with a card for your wallet once competency is achieved.
