Overview

This course helps disabled learners to explore options for training and work, and improves their employability and work-readiness skills.

This course is for people with a permanent cognitive impairment or disability.

It gives learners an understanding of workplace expectations and trains their skills in:

  • job seeking and employability
  • personal management
  • teamwork and communication
  • basic literacy and numeracy
  • use of everyday and workplace technology.

You will also develop hands-on skills in simulated and authentic workplace settings. You will work at a business or organisation, with support from your trainer, as part of the course.

Requirements

This course is for people with a permanent cognitive impairment or disability, who may also have additional barriers to learning or work (such as social, behavioural, emotional factors, including forms of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), specific learning difficulties, or mental health conditions.

Evidence of cognitive disability or other disability must be provided.   It is likely that the learners may also suffer from social/behavioural/emotional issues, including forms of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), specific learning difficulties, mental health conditions, and physical disabilities
