Program Coordinator – Volunteer & Other Programs

The Centre has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Program Coordinator – Volunteer & Other Programs to join our dynamic team.

Applicants for this role must possess demonstrated experience in managing programs and people, comprehensive organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills.

To succeed in this role, the applicant will have a demonstrated ability in connecting and engaging with individuals and groups and in building and maintaining networks with stakeholders.

The Program Coordinator – Volunteer and Other Programs will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting volunteers across the Hume region with a particular focus in

  • Coordinating Community Visitors Scheme and Volunteer Skillsbank Programs
  • Supervising program administration and volunteer staff as required.
  • Supporting the sourcing and development of additional project opportunities for The Centre
  • Coordinating other volunteering projects as required
  • Coordinating The Centre’s volunteer framework

Individual Support (Aged Care) & Disability Trainer – Flowerdale and surrounds

The Centre delivers high quality aged care and disability training, on site in Aged Care Facilities and in the classroom.  We have a longstanding history of providing education and training programs, including lifelong learning and community development opportunities in North East Victoria. We are a community owned organisation strongly linked with Federal, State and Local Government; business and industry; schools, TAFEs and universities; and community groups and organisations.

As an Aged Care / Disability Trainer you take pride in the quality training you deliver which is vital to ensure that older people and people living with a disability receive the best care and support services available.  Highly skilled Aged Care/disability workers are in demand and our courses have positive employment outcomes for learners.

You will empower learners to unlock their potential, shape the way learners interact with residents, give them the confidence, skills and knowledge to deal with a variety of challenges that working in Aged Care and disability offers.

If you have the qualifications and experience to train and assess in vocational Aged Care and Disability as well as hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment we would love to hear from you.

Sessional Trainers / Assessors – Short Courses

Due to recent demand in and around Wangaratta we are seeking a dynamic, engaging trainers to deliver a range of short courses that include:

  • VCGLR RSA
  • Food Hygiene
  • Introduction to coffee making
  • First Aid
  • Forklift

To be successful you must have a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and relevant vocational certificate at level IV or above.

Trainer Assessor / Teacher – Transition Education/ Work Education

Location: Mansfield

The Centre delivers a range of programs that empower adults living with a disability to gain independence, find work and lead a meaningful life.

As a Teacher of these programs you will directly help shape your learners future and see them take control over their own lives, whether that is to move into assisted living, to be more independent, volunteer in the community, finish school or find work.

You will be teaching adults with a range of abilities and your contribution will give them the skills, confidence, knowledge and experience to help them achieve their goals.

You will be delivering selected units from the following qualifications:

  • 22301VIC Certificate I in Transition Education
  • 22302VIC Certificate I in Work Education
  • Plus some Pre Accredited training

You must hold teaching qualifications, relevant vocational experience and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

You need to be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, strong personal organisational and time management skills, and be highly motivated, positive and able to engage with learners from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels. Employability Skills Trainer(s)

Location: Wangaratta

The Centre delivers life changing employability programs to learners with significant barriers to accessing education and employment in North East Victoria and down the Hume corridor to Wallan.

As a Teacher of these programs you will make a direct impact to rebuild these learners’ lives and help them gain employment. You will be assisted by our Learner Engagement Team to ensure each learner gets the support they need to achieve their goals. You will have experience in delivering employment related programs and provide these learners with the tools they need to gain meaningful employment.

Your ability to deliver relevant and relatable employment programs underpinned with Literacy and Numeracy skills and your creative flexible approach to learning, being able to create interesting activities out of current issues or events will give you the flexibility to tailor this course to your learner’s interests.

You will need to be a qualified teacher (trainer and assessor) in order to deliver selected units from 22472VIC Certificate I in General Education for Adults and 22473VIC Certificate II in General Education for Adults. You also must hold Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and relevant Literacy and Numeracy experience in adult education.

You need to be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, strong personal organisational and time management skills, and be highly motivated, positive and able to engage with learners from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels. We are keen to talk to you if you have a consistent and enthusiastic approach to delivering and assessing training.

Responsibilities and Duties

Required

  • Demonstrated experience delivering employability programs to learners.
  • Ability to work confidently and conscientiously while unsupervised, off site and in different delivery areas to provide high quality education and training programs to the community
  • Two years’ experience as a trainer assessor and can demonstrate currency with training and assessment professional development
  • Experience assessing learners using appropriate methods and recording and reporting assessment outcomes
  • Experience in developing training and assessing activities that incorporate various techniques to engage learners who may be disengaged to achieve positive outcomes

Qualifications and Skills

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a relevant vocational certificate at a level IV or above.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and engaging adult learners
  • Current employee Victorian Working With Children Check Card (WWCC)
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
