Project Manager – Finding Strengths

(Full-time, fixed term ending 30/6/2021)

The Project Manager – Finding Strengths will lead and support the project team in achieving funded program outcomes and project objectives of assisting people on parole or on community work orders to identify and manage their learning difficulty/disorder and develop employability skills to achieve meaningful employment.

The incumbent will manage a multi-faceted team providing clinical, case management and learner engagement support to participants. This project is attempting to reduce recidivism and long-term welfare dependence of offenders by improving their employability and increasing long term employment outcomes. Re-engaging and continuing with education will be the offender’s first step on the path towards stable, sustainable independence.

The project will operate throughout the Hume Region of Victoria, including Wodonga, Wangaratta, Seymour and Shepparton.

Forklift Trainer / Assessor

The Centre is seeking a qualified trainer / assessor to deliver TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck throughout North East Victoria.

You must hold a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, be a WorkSafe authorised individual assessor as well as hold a current Forklift Licence.

The role will require travel throughout North East Victoria.

Inclusion Programs Coordinator

Location: Wangaratta and surrounds

We are currently searching for an Inclusion Programs Coordinator to fill a new role in our growing team at The Centre.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of The Centre’s inclusion programs, operational and professional support of delivery staff, liaison with the program stakeholders and growing The Centre’s inclusion program delivery.

The Inclusion Programs Coordinator will create and maintain yearly course scheduling for programs – working with the Course Coordinator to timetable programs.

They will work directly with support staff in the delivery of quality inclusion programs that meet learner needs.

Learner Engagement Officer

Location: Wangaratta and surrounds

The Centre has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Learner Engagement Officer to fill a new role in our growing team.

The Centre delivers life-changing employability programs to learners with significant barriers in accessing education and employment in North East Victoria and down the Hume corridor to Wallan.

As a Learner Engagement Officer (LEO) with The Centre, you will work within a case management framework using a holistic strengths-based approach.

The work of our LEO team is incredibly varied, with very strong communication, case-management and engagement skills essential to excel within this role

The successful applicant will use the Learner Engagement community of practice to support those with significant barriers in accessing education and employment to engage in skills training and employment. Our LEOs also identify and support learners to access specialist intervention if required.

We are a community-owned organisation strongly linked with Federal, State and Local Government; business and industry; schools, TAFEs and universities; and community groups and organisations.

As an Aged Care / Disability Trainer you take pride in the quality training you deliver which is vital to ensure that older people and people living with a disability receive the best care and support services available.  Highly skilled Aged Care/disability workers are in demand and our courses have positive employment outcomes for learners.

You will empower learners to unlock their potential, shape the way learners interact with residents, give them the confidence, skills and knowledge to deal with a variety of challenges that working in Aged Care and disability offers.

Employability Skills Trainer(s)

Location: Wangaratta

The Centre delivers life-changing employability programs to learners with significant barriers to accessing education and employment in North East Victoria and down the Hume corridor to Wallan.

As a Teacher of these programs, you will make a direct impact to rebuild these learners’ lives and help them gain employment. You will be assisted by our Learner Engagement Team to ensure each learner gets the support they need to achieve their goals.
You will have experience in delivering employment-related programs and provide these learners with the tools they need to gain meaningful employment.

Your ability to deliver relevant and relatable employment programs underpinned with Literacy and Numeracy skills and your creative flexible approach to learning, being able to create interesting activities out of current issues or events will give you the flexibility to tailor this course to your learner’s interests.

You will need to be a qualified teacher (trainer and assessor) in order to deliver selected units from 22472VIC Certificate I in General Education for Adults and 22473VIC Certificate II in General Education for Adults. You also must hold Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and relevant Literacy and Numeracy experience in adult education.

You need to be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, strong personal organisational and time management skills, and be highly motivated, positive and able to engage with learners from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels.     1. Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality literacy, numeracy and vocational programs (Certificate in General Education for Adults preferred) to learners who may have significant barriers to learning and engagement.
    2. Ability to work confidently and conscientiously while unsupervised, off-site and in different delivery areas to provide high-quality education and training programs to the community
    3. Two years’ experience as a trainer assessor and can demonstrate currency with training and assessment professional development
    4. Experience working closely with learners to help them identify and achieve their individual goals and providing support for learners to overcome challenges as they emerge and as appropriate, including identifying external intervention and support.
    5. Experience in developing training and assessing activities that incorporate various techniques to engage learners who may be disengaged to achieve positive outcomes
