This competition is open to young people aged 18 and under.

All videos and 70 photographs will be displayed at the

“What’s your Renewable Energy future” Photographic Exhibition to be held at

  • The Centre in our foyer/concourse
  • 17 Chisholm Street, Wangaratta
  • from 6 May – 23 June 2019.


Photo Section

Theme: What’s your renewable energy future?
– What does it look like?
– What will it allow you to do and achieve?
– What do you think are the important things about us changing to renewable energy?

  • Primary (10 and under) $50*
  • Junior (11 – 13yo) $50*
  • Intermediate (14 – 15yo) $50*
  • Senior (16 – 18yo) $50*
  • Overall 1st prize – $100*
  • People’s Choice prize – $100

Rules of Entry

  1. All photo entries must be received via our online entry portal
  2. There is a limit of 3 photo entries per entrant – a maximum of one of these entries is to be marked as preferred for mounting for exhibition
  3. All photo entries are to be cropped to square by entrant before submission as Exhibition will be in frames 20cm x 20cm
  4. Maximum upload size is 10Mb per photo image

Video Section

Theme: Demonstrate the potential of renewable energy as the solution to a wide range of social, economic and environmental challenges in our region

  • Junior (Primary) – $150*
  • Senior (Secondary) – $150*
  • Overall 1st prize – $100*

Rules of Entry

  1. Each video must be no longer than 45 seconds. Opening and/or closing credits are not required, but (if added) may add up to an additional 10 seconds in total.
  2. All entries are to be submitted via our online entry portal using a dropbox link. If you are unsure how to use dropbox, go to https://www.dropbox.com/help or please email photocomp@thecentre.vic.edu.au for assistance.
  3. Ensure that all content in your film (including footage, music, images, props, etc.) is your own. If you include any copyrighted or trademarked content, you must be able to provide written permission for its use. Entries containing any unauthorised content will be disqualified.
  4. By completing this application form, you acknowledge that you have received consent from all visually identifiable people who appear in the video (if you or they are under 18, consent from a parent or guardian). In obtaining consent, identifiable people MUST be made aware that the video may be made available to the general public.

  • Entries open – Fri 1 February 2019

  • Judging completed – Fri 17 May 2019
  • Exhibition dates and times – 9 am to 5 pm Mon to Fri, 6 May – 23 June 2019
  • Exhibition launch and winners awarded – 6 pm Thu 23 May 2019

Terms and Conditions

  1. Only residents aged 18 and under from the following Hume Region LGA’s are eligible to enter – Alpine, Benalla, Indigo, Mansfield, Mitchell, Moira, Murrindindi, Shepparton, Strathbogie, Towong, Wangaratta, Wodonga
  2. Family members of the judging panel are ineligible for prizes
  3. All decisions of the judging panel shall be final and are not open to appeal
  4. All entries received may be used in The Centre’s and DELWP’s publications as well as Social Media and Website
