SLOPE – Film on ice impact to help community

A LOCAL movie about the impact of the drug ice looks set to be viewed by a far wider audience.

The film – produced by The Centre in Wangaratta using local filmmakers
Killer Pig Productions with input from VCAL students – was used to spark discussion among the stakeholders about the film, how it could be utilised further
and to what audiences and for attendees to provide input into the current Wangaratta Ice Action Plan.

Wangaratta Archers Update

The new grounds for the
Wangaratta Archers
are now open at 58 Shanley Street in South Wangaratta Reserve.

Everything is a bit rough but functional, with a ramp still needing to be built at the storage container. A welcome change will be having grass, having spent the last four years shooting on dirt. Shooting was periodically stopped to allow delivery of trucks
of fill for the mound, with everyone happy to see the mound growing.

Paul Gardener was given the honour of the first shot at the new grounds. A large amount of club members have helped get the club to where they are now, including Club President Geoff Gray. Support has included working through Rural City of Wangaratta, obtaining
grants, and all other aspects of the job. There is still plenty to do but there is a strong core of support at the club.

Have your say,

and give us your ideas and suggestions.
