The Community Programs team supports important community focused initiatives which deliver health, wellbeing and educational outcomes to communities in the Hume Region and North East Victoria.
These projects include the Community Visitors Scheme which makes a positive difference to elderly people’s lives; the Volunteer Skillsbank which refers and engages many hundreds of volunteers; Access for All Abilities, supporting and developing inclusive sport and recreation opportunities for under represented groups and people with a disability; assisting sporting clubs and groups to become stronger, attract more members and provide opportunities for people to actively participate.
Sport North East regional sports assembly also supports the Good Sports Programs – assisting clubs in responsibly managing alcohol and smoking in their venues, and being family friendly.
The Community Programs team works in partnership with Local Government, government and non-government agencies and health providers to ensure outcomes that meet community needs.
