Application Letter and Resume:
To apply for a position you are required to provide a brief cover letter or email, outlining your suitability and reasons for applying for the position, together with a current resume which should include the names and telephone numbers of three referees.

Key Selection Criteria:
In addition you are required to address the key selection criteria outlined in the position description. Relevant experience, knowledge and skills should be detailed, with accounts of how this has been applied in your current and previous work/life experiences. These statements are to be submitted with your application letter and resume. Generally applications that have not addressed the key selection criteria will not be considered.

Qualifications and Licenses:
Where a position states that certain qualifications or licenses are required you must include full details of these in the application. If shortlisted for interview, you will be required to present either certified copies or originals of qualifications and evidence of stated licenses. If an offer of employment is made, The Centre will require a certified copy of each qualification or license.

Submitting an application:
Applications are to be received by the specified closing date, marked ‘Confidential’ and quote the name of the position. The following methods of submission are accepted:

Interview and Selection:
Applicants are shortlisted for interview by the selection panel following the closing date for applications. If you are shortlisted you will be invited to attend a panel interview, generally comprising of three people of mixed gender. Typically, the interview will take between 45 minutes and an hour.

If you are unsuccessful in being shortlisted for interview, you will be notified in writing.

When attending for interview you should arrive 10-15 minutes early and will be provided with sample questions for review prior to the interview. You should bring the originals, or certified copies of any qualifications held, together with your Working With Children Card, if held.

Following interviews, referees of the preferred candidate/s will be contacted, prior to a recommendation from the selection panel being approved by the Chief Executive Officer. If you are the successful candidate you will be contacted by telephone, usually within 5 working days of interview, to be offered the position. All applicants will be notified of the result within 10 working days of interview.

Employment Screening:
Dependent upon the nature of the position, the preferred candidate will be required to apply and pay for either or both of National Police Record Check and Working With Children Check. Employment may be terminated in the event that the relevant satisfactory checks are not provided.
